Historical Activism Essay For this paper, you are to use ONE of the two prompts

Historical Activism Essay For this paper, you are to use ONE of the two prompts below. The paper has to be at least 4 pages and should be no more than 6 pages in length (about 1,000-1,500 words), double-spaced using 12-point Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins, should follow APA guidelines and use at least 5 scholarly references (i.e., research/scholarly journal articles, books, book chapters, historical documents). An additional page can be added for references and appendix. Papers may ONLY be submitted as a Word Doc or PDF. Sample papers to use as a resource are available on Blackboard under the “Information” tab within the “Course Resources” folder. Select one of the following prompts: Describe and analyze a historical event from the point of view of someone who was involved in a historical event pertaining to gender equity, feminism, or women’s rights. For example, if you wanted to write about the march on Washington (in support of the equal rights amendment of 1978), you might write it from the point of view of either a participant or one of the lead organizers. You must take on the character of a specific individual (whether real or fictitious); this means that your paper should be written from the first-person perspective. After reading the essay, I should be able to understand the details of what happened, the perspective of your person/character, and the varied circumstances and historical context of the event that you are describing. Conduct an oral history interview with an individual who is associated with the history of feminist movements or was involved in some relevant historical event. (Interviewees should be able to provide some context/insight regarding a historical event from their experience with such event. Interviewees can include relatives). Write an essay in which you provide your interviewee’s testimony of the historical event(s) and describe their experiences and perspectives. Include quotes from the interview. Draw from course readings and other scholarly references to support or refute your interviewee’s perspectives and put their story in the historical context. Interview questions MUST be included as an appendix. DUE Date: Monday, December 7th by 11:59pm
