Application of course concepts to TEAM DEVELOPMENT (i.e., the evolution and development of your assigned LEAD 302 Project Team) this semester and how you all addressed the 5 Dysfunctions of Teams (B&G). FOCUS ON YOUR ENTIRE TEAM, and especially on OTHER team members. (Use their names.) 12 points. (12 %)Prompt: “Assume you are team development consultant hired to observe and constructively critique your team. Using concepts from the course, analyze the development of your assigned Project Team in LEAD 302 from the beginning of the semester to the present. Explain how the diversity of your team – or lack thereof! – (temperament, interaction style, teamplayer style, EI capacities etc.) impacted how your team developed and influenced your team’s dynamics and the interactions between its members.” You must specifically(1) demonstrate an overall understanding of your team’s processes and development, focusing on all team members (including examples of individual and group behavior) – 6 points;and(2) demonstrate the extent to which your team overcame “the 5 dysfunctions of a team” (or not!) – 6 points.Preparation: If you reflect on your team and its evolution “objectively,” how can you describe and explain the evolution, processes, dynamics, conflicts etc. which characterized your group, using material learned in the course (personality type, temperament, interaction style, team-player style, stages of team development, emotional intelligence, and the 5 dysfunctions of teams etc.)? This paper should focus on the evolution of your team over the entire semester (including the retreat) and especially how you engaged your assigned task objective of designing and facilitating a teambuilding workshop for the class.TIE IN – and cite! – EXPLICIT REFERENCES TO COURSE MATERIALS. (5D, T&T, Berens Workbooks, in-Class PPT’s/Presentations). I expect you to be able to make direct connections (i.e., quote from your sources to substantiate your observations and validate your claims.) For example, don’t just say “So-and-so was an In-Charge Stabilizer” or “So-and-so had a Parker Communicator-Collaborator style” but connect specific things they said or did to specific characteristics of that personality type or team-player style from your readings. Think of your final as a DESCRIPTION and DIAGNOSIS. For example, you might point out that “Our team consisted of 2 catalysts, 1 theorist, 2 improvisers & 1 stabilizer.” … But you must also go beyond pointing out such facts to explain the observed significance or implications of those facts: How did they specifically influence/impact the development of and interactions in your team at different stages of development? The same goes for documenting examples of emotional intelligence (Bradberry & Greaves), conflict, or stages of group/team development (Parker) and dysfunctions (Lencioni) in your team.—————————————-(*) Attachments include Temperament Composite charts of your team, the Temperament Targets Matrix, Parker Team Player Grids, Temperament & Interaction Style summaries for yourself and your team as a whole. Analyze yourself first, then meet and share your respective observations with one another.
